Undeserved Misfortune

The Perks of being a Wallflower is a movie that incorporates undeserved misfortune from the start. The main character Charlie is living his life without his best friend.  Charlie's best friend commits suicide and Charlie struggles to find a group of people he fits into. We feel sorry for Charlie and hope to see that he is able to move on from his best friend's death and find his way through high school alongside his new friends, Patrick and Sam.

A while back one of my best friends lost a parent and it was really hard on them. Losing a parent is one of the most difficult things that someone can go through. I was unable to feel what my friend felt, but I do know losing someone hurts. Things happen and it sucks.

An idea for a case of undeserved misfortune is the main character of a movie meeting up with a family member and the main character is trying to convince the family member to stay, but they have work and  leave. Something happens to the family member on their way home and the main character is convinced that it is his/her fault. The main character struggles through the movie to persuade his/herself that they really aren't to blame for their family member's death.
