My Thoughts on Bullying

When I lived in Phoenix, AZ I use to ride the school bus in order to get to school. I was in the fourth grade and the bus I rode was shared amongst middle schools in that area. I was one of the few elementary school kids who had their stop towards the end of the bus ride and it sucked. Being on the school bus for two hours was the worst. There was this group of kids that use to make fun of me, but I always ignored them. I didn't like getting picked on and I will always regret not standing up for myself. One of the girls for their middle school became one of my close friends and she would tell me to just ignore them, they had nothing better to do. I'm glad I was able to meet a friend like her because she stood up for me and made me feel like their words had no meaning. Bullying is not something anyone should encourage, it is wrong. People don't realize the effect that 'jokes' have on someone. Most bullies bully people who they feel are weaker and won't stand up for themselves so this is why we need to learn to take a stand to stop bullies.
