Week of June 12

I really enjoyed the film festival and thought it was really cool that a lot of people liked the films. I heard many people receive compliments about their films. If the film festival was a success I think the evening show will be great.

Week of June 5

This week I finished my group finished our music video. I also finished a third film recently. I joined another production team and we filmed over the weekend. We have been editing everything that we shot and I believe we have turned in the film as well.

Week of May 29

This week my group filmed some last minute shots, but we still need to film a few shots this weekend. We have been editing this week and hope to be able to turn in our film for the film festival. We are almost finished with our music video.

Week of May 22

This week CM Productions has been editing the scenes that were shot during the weekend. Our music video is turning out really good. This weekend we will finish shooting the end of our film.

Week of May 15

This weekend my group and I, CM Productions, filmed at two locations. We went to Ucla and Santa Monica and spent a great deal of time at both places. We had a really good time and got a lot done. We still need to keep filming, but we are about half way with our film. This week we are going to try to finish our film.

Week of May 8th

This week my group was putting together ideas for our next film and this weekend we went out and shot a couple of scenes. This week will be dedicated to getting most of our film done.

Week of April 24th

Last week, we were finishing off the editing for our film. We were unable to turn in our film on Friday, but we are finally done. We are starting to get our ideas together for the next film.

Week of April 17

This week my group has been working on the editing part of our film. We are almost done. We are just making the music fit with the scenes and adding the credits. We will most likely be done by the start of next week.

Week of April 3rd

During this week my group, Above All Productions, was able to shoot on Tuesday and Wednesday. We got a lot done and are pretty much done with the shooting. Our screenplay is finally finished because we had made a few changes to the end of the film. We shot during school on Wednesday and have stayed productive this entire week. We are nearly finished with the film we just need to finish editing.

Week of March 27

I am working with Berenice Hernandez, Gabriela Vazquez, Carlos Guzman, and Rafael Velasco from period 1. Our production name is Above All Productions. We are creating a PSA that shows how you should say something when you see something bad happening. Our main character acts as though he doesn't see anything while he is walking home. 

This week we started working on the screenplay and recently started on the storyboards. We were able to shoot two scenes on Wednesday, but we still need to shoot more next week. It has been a productive week.

What Music Means to Me

Music is my escape from reality. When I am feeling down or haven't exactly had a good day, I can put on my earphones and block everything out. I like listening to music because it relaxes me. Listening to music makes me happy and it can also motivate me. Music before a game gets me pumped. Some of my favorite artists/bands include Ed Sheeran, The Neighbourhood, One Republic, The Arctic Monkeys, Vampire Weekend, Geographer, Coldplay, Kings of Leon, and Kanye West. I enjoy listening to their songs because they put me in a good mood and can make my day go by faster. Sometimes I doze off and get so into the music that I stop what I'm doing. Going to a concert is probably one of the best things I have experienced because everyone is so into the music and it is amazing.

Problems and Struggles

I think one of the greatest problems most students from Bell face are not been able to get help at home. Whether it's getting help for applying to college or just being able to talk to your parents about stuff that is going on. I think I personally face this because I'm first generation and my parents don't really know or understand things from my point of view. It is really difficult to not have the support you need at home, but that won't stop me from trying to get my parents to understand. Trying to get my parents to understand my struggles isn't exactly easy, it's constantly a problem. I think some students can relate, but everyone should use the lack of support to motivate them to move forward.

The Most Interesting Person in the World!

The most interesting person I know would be my cousin Romana. My cousin Romana lives in Georgia at the moment because her husband Miguel was stationed there and every time she visits she brings along all these great stories about what she does over there. She is currently studying to be a registered nurse and she always has all these health tips for the family. The first time Romana visited LA after she had barely moved to Georgia she told us about what places aren't found there and  how it was so different from what she was accustomed to. She would also tell us about her trips and how it was difficult to move back and forth. She would also mention how she made friends with other young ladies that were from California. My cousin has always been like an older sister and being able to hear about her life, as an adult, makes her the most interesting person I know.

My Anti-Drug

My Anti-Drug would have to be playing soccer. Being able to run free and concentrate on one thing (winning) allows me to clear my mind. When I'm in the game all I can think about is not letting the other girls pass me. Playing soccer in the rain is the best. Being able to chase after someone and win the  ball from them and have the heavy rain drops hit your face is the best feeling. In the game I am not thinking about what homework assignment I have yet to complete or even what I have to do when I get home. Being in the game is my sanctuary because I feel safe and know what I am doing. I have been playing since I was about five years old and I have always enjoyed doing so. After a long day of school, I enjoy having practice at the end of the day.

What I Learned from An Inconvenient Truth

One of the parts that stood out to me from An Inconvenient Truth was the fact that the documentary includes before and after shots of environmental landscapes. Rivers, mountains, and even glaciers are photographed to show the great impact that we have had on them. The photographs allow us to see the effect we have had on the Earth and how we really can destroy it. Watching this documentary left me thinking about how this will affect us in the near future. If global warming is bad now, how will it be when we're older? Will Manhattan or the San Francisco Bay flood? What other places will no longer be around? After watching this documentary I felt upset because we are now suffering the consequences for past generations and continue to harm the Earth. Some people don't care much for what is to come.
